JUSTIN SMITH | OWNER & LEAD GUIDE
Justin has over 20 years of outdoor guiding and guest services experience throughout the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, Rocky Mountain West and Hawaii. His love for nature began as a Boy Scout, hiking and camping in the Appalachian Mountains. As a young adult, he earned a film and video production degree from Full Sail University and worked for several networks including NBC, ABC, CBS, MTV, HGTV, and Showtime. As he chased film projects across the states, Justin eventually found ‘home’ splitting time guiding between Kauai and Big Sky.
Justin values a high standard of excellence when creating custom adventures and has an eye for detail and beauty.

We are all stewards of this beautiful land, and when you book a tour with 45 North, you will become a part of the nature surrounding you. Educators at heart, our guides weave Leave No Trace Ethics, natural history, and earth sciences into their tours. In addition, our company complies with all state and federal laws, attends agency continuing education opportunities, and holds the necessary permits to operate with integrity.
